ezi-Fibre Splice With Exterior Cover
ezi-Fibre™ Mechanical Splices (with exterior cover) provide an inexpensive, quick alternative to terminating fibres without the need for a fusion splicer.
ezi-Fibre™ Splices use V-groove technology, to align the fibres together and maintain physical contact between the fibres. No assembly tool is required to ensure the fibres are mated correctly. The resulting connection using the connector results in an average insertion loss of about 0.1dB.

Termination Process

Strip cable leaving bare fiber 5cm long

Apply crimping ring and crimp with pliers

Leave approx 1mm of jacket on front side of ring

Load ruler with fiber and strip coating to correct length

Load ruler into cleaver base. Fiber will cleave to 13mm

Insert fiber into one side, then repeat for other side.

Fibers should form a slight curve, ensuring contactInsert fiber into one side, then repeat for other side.

Lock the top cover onto the body to complete.

To remove, use removal tool, to release V-groove clamps
